Zena Thomas Brown, 91, of Cairo, GA, passed away at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, August 29, 2019. Memorial service arrangements will be announced next week.
Mrs. Brown was born on April 28, 1928, in Cairo, GA, to the late Mike Thomas and Minnie Lee White Thomas. On April 2, 1950, she married Russell Earl Brown, who preceded her in death on February 10, 1974. She was a homemaker. She worked as a media assistant at Cairo High School with the Grady County Board of Education. Zena was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughters, Michelle Brown Rackley (Keith) of Whigham, GA, Sheila Brown Bradley (Mark) of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Brandy Celeste Bradley (Jeff) of Thomasville, GA; nephews, Mickey Thomas (Rachel) of Palm Desert, CA, Chuck Thomas (Chloe) of Cairo, GA; niece, Shayne Thomas McCullough (Robert) of Destin, FL; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and brothers, Charlie Thomas and Joe Thomas.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Brown’s memory to: First United Methodist Church, 318 South Broad Street, Cairo, GA, 39828; Kindred Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA, 39819.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the memorial service.
